More context than calories alone
Macro Tracker
BiteBud is a macro tracker that shows protein, carbohydrates, and fat alongside calories. Log a meal by photo, check the breakdown, and use the pattern across your day to make more informed choices.
What does a macro tracker measure?
Macros are the three main nutrients that contribute energy to your diet: protein, carbohydrates, and fat. Calories provide the total, while macros help explain the composition of that total. BiteBud makes those numbers visible after you log a meal, so you can look for useful patterns without treating one meal or one day as a pass-or-fail test.
Build a macro-aware routine
A practical approach is to start with the behavior you want to maintain: log meals consistently, include a protein source, and review your day before making a large change. If you train, you may care about protein and carbohydrates around activity. If you are focused on general nutrition, simply seeing your usual balance may be enough to make better decisions.
Use estimates as guidance
Nutrition data varies by recipe, brand, serving size, and preparation. Photo-based macro estimates are most useful as a consistent reference point, especially when combined with corrections for foods you know well. Read the photo calorie scanner guide to improve inputs and the Apple Health calorie tracker guide to connect nutrition with activity.
